Position Overview:
The Director of Lifelong Learning （DLL） is responsible for leading the University&＃039；s efforts to develop ａｎｄ implement executive education programs ａｎｄ foster strategic partnerships with professional associations, business, community, industry, government, ａｎｄ public-sector groups. The DLL will play a crucial part in integrating academic excellence with industry practice, enhancing the University&amp；＃039；s reputation as a leader in lifelong learning for professionals ａｎｄ executives. This involves market research, strategic ａｎｄ budgetary planning, defining target audiences, designing, promoting, ａｎｄ delivering innovative courses/programs. It also includes recruiting subject matter experts, negotiating contracts, creating new delivery options, ａｎｄ assessing program/course success.
Duke Kunshan University is a partnership of Duke University, Wuhan University ａｎｄ the Municipality of Kunshan, China. DKU is located in Kunshan China, about 30 km ｆｒｏｍ Shanghai. DKU offers five graduate degree programs including a Master of Management Studies ａｎｄ launched its undergraduate degree program in 2018. DKU also currently offers custom executive education programs to Chinese ａｎｄ multinational companies. Our beautiful 83-acre campus with a 200-bedroom conference center provides a reflective environment for relaxed, transformative learning.

Essential Duties:
1 Lead the design of various lifelong learning programs. Assist the Executive Vice Chancellor in managing data-driven, evidence-based decisions for strategic planning, programming, ａｎｄ operations of lifelong learning programs.
2 Network with professional associations, business, community, industry, government, ａｎｄ public-sector groups to identify ａｎｄ assess education ａｎｄ training needs.
3 Collaborate with faculty ａｎｄ educational development specialists in other departments/schools ａｎｄ institutions to deliver online ａｎｄ offline programs.
4 Ensure the sustainability of lifelong learning programs by generating revenue through course registration, partnerships, subscription services, license agreements, ａｎｄ external sponsorship.
5 Establish, maintain ａｎｄ manage internal ａｎｄ external partnerships to facilitate the acceptance ａｎｄ recognition of DKU lifelong learning programs.
6 Deploy marketing campaigns ａｎｄ materials for courses ａｎｄ programs, including advertising, brochures, ａｎｄ flyers. Ensure that courses/programs satisfy ａｎｄ adhere to relevant accrediting standards, ｗｈｅｒｅ applicable.
7 Ensure adequate systems, infrastructure, resources, ａｎｄ workforce for successful program delivery ａｎｄ expansion.
8 Recruit subject matter experts to write ａｎｄ assess course materials. Act as editor, reviewer, content contributor, as appropriate.
9 Negotiate contracts ａｎｄ memoranda of agreement （MOAs） with internal ａｎｄ external clients ａｎｄ service providers.
10 Develop ａｎｄ improve evaluation systems ａｎｄ processes, including benchmarks ａｎｄ performance indicators.
11 Lead ａｎｄ supervise the Office of Lifelong Learning Programs staff. Responsible for the coordination of overall workflow of the Office of Lifelong Learning including personnel matters such as hiring ａｎｄ performance evaluations.
12 Oversee office ａｎｄ individual program budgetary accounts, including preparation of the Office’s annual budget.
13 Perform other duties as assigned.
14 University employees&amp；＃039； job responsibilities will continue to expand in scope ａｎｄ depth as the University grows ａｎｄ complexity in its programs.
Required Qualifications:
1 Master’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Organizational Development, ｏｒ a relevant field.
2 A minimum of 15 years of experience in a leadership role within higher education, executive education, ｏｒ corporate training ａｎｄ development.
3 Demonstrable experience in building ａｎｄ managing corporate relationships ａｎｄ partnerships.
4 Proven track record in developing ａｎｄ implementing successful ａｎｄ profitable professional development programs.
5 Strong understanding of the executive education landscape, including market trends ａｎｄ the needs of adult learners.
6 Excellent leadership, communication, ａｎｄ networking skills.
7 Ability to work effectively with faculty, administrators, ａｎｄ business leaders.
8 Familiarity with accreditation processes ａｎｄ academic governance.
9 Experience in strategic planning ａｎｄ budget management.
Preferred Qualifications:
1 Master’s degree in business ｏｒ a related field is MUST, MBA and/or PhD is preferred.
2 Experience working within an international ａｎｄ culturally diverse environment.
3 Hands-on experience with digital learning platforms ａｎｄ innovative educational technologies.
4 Publication record ｏｒ demonstrable engagement with the faculty ａｎｄ experts in areas relevant to executive education.
