Position Overview:
The Student Information System Specialist maintains a complex database and student information system, performing the following functions —— access, store, and retrieve data, set up and maintain database files, produce a variety of reports ｆｒｏｍ the database. The Student Information System Specialist performs a series of student status updates throughout students’ academic life cycle in both internal system and in a number of external JED and MOE systems.

University Registrar
Essential Duties:
1. Maintain clean data in the student information system.
2. Maintain students’ directory information in the system to make sure students’ personal directory information is updated in a timely manner.
3. Work with Admissions, Auditing and Students Affairs Offices on new students’ post admissions qualification check and register students on MOE Xuexin platform.
4. Work with UG Office and graduate programs on students’ status change, including students’ LOA, suspension, return ｆｒｏｍ LOA, withdrawal, completion and etc., and make sure students’ status are maintained accurately and timely on both internal and external platforms, including but not limited to DKU SIS and Xuexin platform.
5. Run end-of-term processing at the end of each semester, including students’ academic standing, dean’s list, GPA ranking and etc., and maintain such records accurately on students’ record.
6. Design, direct, and conduct the university’s compliance with reporting required by regulatory authorities.
7. Work with graduate programs on matriculating new students into DKU SIS and maintain students’ records.
8. Work with external authorities and agencies on verifying students' status, transcripts, and other official documentations.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
10. University employees' job responsibilities will continue to expand in scope and depth as the University grows in size and complexity in its programs.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in information systems, user support/training, database systems, or relevant work experience.
2. 2-3 years of relevant work experience is required.
3. Demonstrated competence in administrative software and database systems support and management/setup/maintenance/interfacing to include student records and other database systems.
4. Experience working in higher education or student information system is a plus.
5. Ability to work effectively in a team and to work independently.
6. Highly organized with ability to multi-task.
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Fluent spoken and written Chinese and English.
